HOW TO CHOOSE BEST FABRIC FOR ACTIVEWEAR?

Selecting the right functional fabric is very important when customizing activewear sets. In order to succeed in activewear customization, We need to understand the characteristics of the fabrics and which fabrics are best for activewear.

Nylon

Nylon is an extremely durable, quick-drying, stretchy fabric and it is currently the best-selling yoga wear fabric on the market. The hygroscopicity and dyeing properties of nylon are better than polyester and the dyeing properties are better. The hygroscopicity of nylon fabric is better in the synthetic fiber fabric, so the activewear made of nylon is more comfortable to wear than polyester fitness apparel. The ironing temperature should be controlled below 140℃ to avoid damaging the fabric.

Polyester

Polyester has high strength and elastic recovery ability, so it is durable, wrinkle resistant and non-ironing. But it's moisture absorption is poor, summer wear has a stuffy feeling, at the same time in winter easy to carry static electricit.However, it is easy to dry after washing, and the wet strength almost does not decrease and does not deform, so it has good washable performance. Acid, alkali to its damage degree is not large, while mold and moth-proof.

Cotton

Cotton is very suitable for making workout apparel. Pure cotton has good breathability and moisture absorption. It is soft and comfortable to wear without any sense of bondage, but its durability is not as good as nylon and other chemical fiber fabrics. Cotton has a prominent drawback, after washing and wearing is easy to wrinkle and deformation.

Bamboo

Bamboo fiber fabric is a new type of fabric which is made of bamboo fiber by special technology. Bamboo is soft, antibacterial, moisture-wicking, anti-ultraviolet and environmentally friendly. The cross section of bamboo fiber is covered with large and small oval pores, which can absorb and evaporate large amounts of water in an instant. Bamboo absorbs three times as much water as cotton.

Tencel

Tencel is environmentally friendly, can be completely decomposed in soil, no pollution to the environment and harmless to the ecology. Tencel has excellent hygroscopicity and shrinkage is small, generally less than 3%. Tencel is moisture-wicking, soft and comfortable, but it is more expensive than cotton. Tencel is suitable for loose fit wholesale tank tops and t shirts.

Lycra

Lycra can stretch up to 500%, and can restore the original. This means that Lycra can be stretched very easily, so lycra is perfect for compression sportswear and fitness leggings. However, it can not be used alone and needs to be interwoven with any other man-made or natural fiber. Lycra enhances the elasticity of fabrics and can be used with a variety of different fibers, whether natural or man-made, without changing the look and feel of the fabric.
